Silver and Light

Ian Ruhter shoots amazing things in the back of his truck using large-scale collodion wet plates, such as were used in early nineteenth century photography. Ruhter combines this pioneering technique with contemporary subjects, including landscapes, cityscapes, and portraits. The resulting body of work as unique as it is beautiful.

His show at Fahey/ Klein opens tomorrow Oct 16, with a reception for the artist from 7-9pm.

The show will run through November 29th, and is definitely worth checking out:

"In the process of losing my way I have taken a tremendous journey back to the 1800's. I have time-traveled the way you would in a dream. Taking me backwards into the future, a future where you paint with silver and light." - Ian Ruhter
